HIGH SCHOOL PREP

THE PATH TO PERSONAL SUCCESS

						Date

TO: Parents/Guardian of

Your son or daughter has not been performing at the level that is expected of a student in the High School Prep class. Grades will be issued soon for progress reports/report cards and your son or daughter will be receiving an "E" grade. In High School Prep class there is only an "A" grade or an "E" grade. The students were thoroughly counseled about the consequences of disrupting the class by not following class rules. Each time students display disruptive behavior which slows or stops a teacher from teaching or a student from learning, a mark is made in the grade book. If a student receives more than 15 marks by the end of the class in January an "E" grade will be earned. Since there are four marking periods for the class, students that receive eight or more marks by the second reporting period will receive an "E" grade. Examples of disruptive behavior are excessive talking, treating other students without dignity and respect, tardiness, unexcused absences, sleeping or eating in class (including chewing gum), not having tools for the class, and bothering other students.

It has been explained to all students that if the disruptive behavior voluntarily ceases, and they receive less than 15 marks by the end of the class in January, they will receive an "A" for a final grade.

Your cooperation in assisting your son or daughter to achieve a passing grade will be appreciated. If you have any questions regarding the marks your son or daughter has received please check with him or her for the exact class rules which were violated.

Sincerely,
