SUBJECT: SR/JR ROTC Awards
TO: All SR/JR ROTC Units
The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) Award of Merit consists of Citation and Ribbon Bar which are authorized for award annually to the selected recipient of the SR/JR ROTC Units.
If your unit has been supported by a local chapter of MOWW, then please continue coordinating with the Chapter for your annual award support and representative from the Chapter for presentation. If for any reason MOWW Chapter cannot support your unit, please use the Request Support Form on this site.
If you are a new unit requesting support, please use our MOWW National Directory (pdf) to find the closest MOWW Chapter that could support your unit. You may call the Chapter Commander/Adjutant to inquire if their chapter are supporting the local ROTC units with the MOWW Award of Merit program. If no local chapter is available, a SR/JR ROTC Award of Merit - Request Support Form may be submitted to MOWW National Headquarters for support.
If a chapter member is not available from the local chapter to make the presentation, any active, reserve, or retired commissioned officer, may present the MOWW award.
NOTE: Effective January 1, 2007, our organization will be unable to furnish your requested SR/JR ROTC medal free of charge.
Due to increasing costs of ROTC medals, we are now only able to provide your organization with the appropriate SR/JR ROTC Citation and ribbon bar.
If your unit would like to purchase the MOWW Award of Merit for your selected recipient, the cost of the medal including postage and handling is as follows:
SR ROTC (Gold) - $11.00, SR ROTC (Silver) - $10.00, SR ROTC (Bronze) - $9.00 and JR ROTC - $8.00.
If you would like to purchase a medal, please complete the SR/JR ROTC Award of Merit - Order Medal Form.
We Do Not Accept Credit/Debit Cards.
Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. We regret that this situation has occurred, but with reduced funding for all supported by MOWW, this reduction in support to all ROTC programs is necessary.
