RESOLUTION
Enhanced Inspections of Iran's Nuclear Program
WHEREAS, International Atomic Energy Agency inspections in 2003 of Iran's nuclear program revealed significant undeclared activities with potential application for nuclear weapons; and
WHEREAS, Iran has had a nuclear program for nearly 50 years, it has maintained that nuclear power is necessary with domestic energy consumption rates and a desire to preserve oil and resources foreign currency; and
WHEREAS, Iran has asserted that its nuclear power program is strictly peaceful, but few observers believe that such an ambitious program is necessary; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That The Military Order of the World Wars in National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, July 21-25, 2004, encourages inspections in Iran's nuclear program to keep any potential Iranian nuclear weapons program in check; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That if Iran continues to block verification of any production of nuclear material or inspection of suspected nuclear sites, that the United States proceed with economic and/or other actions, as appropriate.
