RESOLUTION

 THE CITIZEN CORPS

WHEREAS, The Military Order of the World Wars is composed of grassroots chapters across the country which have had experience in community youth leadership, patriotic education and national security programs; and

WHEREAS, the Citizen Corps is a federally-funded, locally driven initiative to have Americans become voluntarily active participants in preventing, preparing for and responding to man-made and natural disaster and other emergencies; now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that The Military Order of the World Wars at its Annual Convention in Burlingame, California, August 2-7, 2005, encourage its Regions and Chapters to become involved in local Citizen Corps activities such as Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), Neighborhood Watch programs and others; and that the Military Order of the World Wars affiliate itself with the Citizen Corps.
